We’re excited to congratulate NHL standout T.J. Oshie and his representation, O2K Sports Management, on the release of a powerful new documentary highlighting his career and personal journey. COACH, a deeply personal sports documentary about Oshie and his late father, made its world premiere on June 14 at the DC/DOX Film Festival in Washington, D.C.
The Newman & Lickstein team provided legal counsel throughout the development and financing process of the film, and advised on key production agreements, talent contracts, and intellectual property matters to help bring the project from script to screen.
Produced by Nash Pictures alongside an award-winning team, including executive producer Seth Rogen, COACH offers a moving look at the emotional bonds between fathers and sons, the legacy of sport, and the harsh realities of early-onset Alzheimer’s disease. The documentary follows T.J. Oshie, a Stanley Cup champion with the Washington Capitals, as he navigates the pinnacle of his professional hockey career while his father and mentor, Tim “Coach” Oshie, battles a degenerative disease threatening to erase the memories of his son’s greatest achievements.
We are honored to support O2K Sports Management and their commitment to representing athletes beyond the game—helping shape stories that matter on and off the ice.
